[Project Life] Week 4

Lots of photos from Chinese New Year and thus it was quite hard to pick out just a few for Project Life.
Decided to feature some of the traditional stuff we do during CNY.

This red journalling card is from Pebbles Inc. It came as a stack of 25 cards with slightly different journalling spaces. Thought it fit perfectly on this page. The photo of the kiddos playing Lion Dance was rather blur and thus wouldn't be suitable to be printed onto a 4x6 size. Printed it on 4x3 instead and then trimmed it down to fit into the 4x6 journalling card. Works perfectly.

This was a smaller page done on the Design G pockets of the Project Life kit. Liked the variation it gave to the folder.

The "Hello Holidays" were inspired by Ali Edwards' "Hello Adventures seen here. The "Hello" is her handwriting font.

Life cycle of the butterfly

This was done by the boys. I only drew pencil lines on the photos for them to trim the photo down and drew the black marker lines after they were done. Kieran wrote/drew the life cycle on the red piece of paper (with some help in spelling) and Kieran pasted everything down. A very nice piece of work I think!

[Project Life 2012] Week 3

Our Wicked night!
Some hidden journalling behind the Wicked tab.
Just had to add a page on what happened to this little fella's CNY costume in school. I like it that I can always add a 12x12 layout into the folder among the usual pocketed pages.
Not completed. I am hoping to get a photo of the boys with their great-grandma to fill in that space. Haven't filled in the journalling card at the top either.  Used a double sized journalling card and stuck a picture of #1 fixing up his Lego. Journalling's at the back of the card.
The iphone's front camera is really bad. So instead of printing a full 2x3 sized photo, I put a border around the 2 little pictures and made it look as though it was an instax photo. This way, the pictures look a tad less grainy.

[Project Life 2012] Week 2

Nothing really special this week. Brought the boys to Polliwogs and this page just records the fun they had while we worked on our laptops.

Particularly liked the photo of Kiefer wearing the Animal tshirt. With his center parting hair, he looked exactly like the character on his shirt! :P

Using up the dymo-like stickers that I had in my stash.

Project Life 2012

This is my project for 2012. My aim to is to put something into the folder at least once a week. Instead of recording just 1 event of the week, the pockets will allow me to document multiple incidents.

Cover:
This is the cover. I simply followed the recommendations on the cards. The only thing that I added were the chipboard 2012. I largely followed Ali Edwards' Project Life 2011.

Week 1:

I wrote about the boys' returning back to school after their 6 week year end vacation. I liked it that I could keep receipts from purchasing new uniforms (they've outgrown their old ones) and new school bags) in the pockets. I never managed to keep much mementos in my layouts in the past. This is the Design A pockets.

Kieran copied Manchester United's emblem the other day. And I slotted that into the album as well.
This page is created on the Design F pockets.

Project 52 Weeks (2011) Completed

Scraplifted this cover from somewhere that I can't remember. Thank you for a beautiful for my book!
Project 52 weeks for 2011 has been completed. I've compiled all the layouts and put them into a photobook. It is really very gratifying to see this project come to fruition! I love to flip through it and recall the things we did in 2011.

This year, I got Becky Higgin's Project Life. I'm going to give it a go and see how it goes. It's a system for documenting memories using precuts and segmented pockets. You can choose to record everyday, once a week or monthly. It is versatile in that way. I've just started and have got 2 pages done. I'm not sure if I really like it yet. I love it that I can now keep little knick knacks (receipts, drawings etc) that digital scrapbooking doesn't allow me to do so. But I think it does take a longer time to put together a page than to digitally scrap. I also love it that I can record all the little moments that happen everyday. In a way, I think I will probably record more daily moments compared to Project 52 weeks where I tend to take 1 main event of the week to scrap about.

Will post photos of my Project Life as I go along.
